Weekend Adventure
Today started off very slow, but ended up turning into quite a surprise.
It took me about 3 hours to get myself out of bed this morning. I just wasn’t finding the motivation to do anything, which may sound crazy since I live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
When I finally jumped out of bed, I took a peak outside, and it was one of clearest days in awhile. I decided to go hiking at the Ka’au Crater waterfalls.
Testing My New Shoes
About a week ago, a company called Aleader Gears sent me a pair of their water shoes to try out.
You can check them out here on Amazon! Overall, the shoes are extremely comfortable with a great design, and are perfect for the beach and waterfall adventures.
I thought they were perfect for the waterfall because there are rocks at the bottom, and having light shoes to wear that dry quickly also is very helpful.
My First Rappelling Experience
When I made it to the top of the first waterfall, I met a group of people who were rappelling. I’ve seen them before at a different waterfall, so it was ironic to see them again.
To get the perfect photo, they decided to hang upside down over the top of the falls holding an American Flag. Adrenaline junkies for sure, my kind of people.
They asked me if I was interested in trying it, and I said “Of Course, Lets do it.” I’m always looking for new experiences in life.
Before I went I, they gave me a little lesson on how to get down safely. After, it was showtime. I swung around the tree and made my way down the falls.
The whole process is actually really simplistic and easy to do. It was a pretty amazing experience and hope I can do it again in the future, hopefully on a higher waterfall.
Comment if you’d every be daring enough to do this. Be sure to Subscribe to follow the adventure!

The day always be different if you out off the bed and walk out. Somebody you don’t know, something you never do before. It makes our day different, makes us live happy. And hope you keep this life style all the time.

This is so cool! I’ve always wanted to give rappelling a try, but to do it by a waterfall must be so much more scenic – looks like you had a gnarly time!

Not a sports freak here but lady u swear you pictures made me drooling. Great captures and I sure wish to visit this place someday! If you like rock climbing you may want to consider visiting Railay in Thailand. Climb the monoliths and dive straight into Andaman sea! Keep up the great work.

I’m loving your use of the Go Pro mouth grip to capture shots without using your hands. I’m gonna have to get one now lol!
This looks lovely… I’m glad you got out of bed to show us 😉

Andy loves hiking, and I can definitely see him being up for rappelling in Oahu — and in a gorgeous waterfall, and he’d definitely be in! I’m not quite that strong or adventurous, but the scenery is so stunning, I might just have to screw up my courage and give it a go. Love the photos! Thanks for sharing your story. 🙂

You seemed to have had great fun :)….. Pics speak! I have never done any rappelling yet but yeah, I did some zip lining a while back. However, Oahu looks fab – I think rappelling will probably enhance the experience of seeing those falls!

I am not sure if I would be dare to try that. It is really going to take my breath away as in I will be very very nervous to do the rappelling until I forget to breathe. Haha..

Awesome blog! I wish that I’d run into people repelling while I’m on my hikes. I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while now, especially down one of the waterfalls. If you’re open to it, I’d love to tag along on a hike sometime.
Mahalo!
