I Need More Time
Lately I’ve been dealing with trying to balance the hundreds of things going on in life. School, work, filming, editing, and more.
I started to find myself saying I don’t have enough time to do the things I truly want, or I don’t have as much time as others to really focus on what I truly want.
This definitely bothered me, and sparked some interest on how I could improve my productivity and time management which I believed I was doing a great job at.
I came across a Ted Talk from Laura Vanderkam which reframed my thinking. You can listen to the talk here: Laura’s Ted Talk
We’re In This Together
The biggest point I took from this video was there’s always enough time to do complete what’s important to you, and if you constantly keep telling yourself, “I don’t have time,” it simply means it’s not a priority.
Everyone on Earth has the exact same 24 hours in the day to work toward their goals and dreams and the ones who are successful, have clear priorities.
And this often starts with what’s your why? Read and watch more about this here: Why do you get up?
Keeping Things Interesting
Having to work the majority of the day, I find it difficult to film sometimes. Because of this I wasn’t able to capture the content I wanted, and felt there was no point in shooting.
I’ve come to realize I can have fun, learn, and constantly develop my skills by filming anything and anywhere. I focus on capturing similar things in a new way.
For graduate school, my class was assigned to make videos explaining a research article. Knowing I don’t have an interest in research, I told myself I might as well make it interesting and have fun with it.
Lesson Learned
For the video, I decided to shoot a vlog style video and explaining the research article when I went out to film one day.
There’s always enough time to do what’s important to you. Learn to gain control of your time, and drastically improve your life!

Great post Taylor! I can totally resonate with you when it comes to being overwhelmed with life in regards to school, work and content creation. I tried to start vlogging over the summer but I ended up stopping because my schedule was to jam packed and my blog was my main focus. But I definitely want to start vlogging and filming again because I enjoy it and I want to become better at it. So I definitely need to make vlogging/youtubing a priority!

This is so true. I stop saying I don’t have time, and say this is something I don’t want to make time for. It’s true we make time for things that are important for us!
