Early Morning Start
As you guys know by now, I love to get out for sunrise. There’s something about being out early morning. I feel like I’m truly experiencing all of what life has to offer. Check my last sunrise experience here: Hidden Gem South Shore
This morning we planned to go west side. West side is amazing because there are multiple beaches, hikes, and caves. It’s its own little piece of paradise where you can see magical creatures as well a.k.a. dolphins!
Our plan for the day was to basically drive to the end of the island. Yokohama Beach was the first beach me and Savannah went to when we visited Hawaii last summer before I lived here, so this beach definitely has a special place in my heart.
Meeting New Friends
We made it to the beach around 6:30 or so. Another great thing about waking up early for sunrise is the drastically less amount of people at the beach.
This morning was as clear as can be. As the sun rose over the mountain, it was shining the perfect golden light to capture some photos.
Are shooting, we decided it was time to take a dip. While in the water we met a couple girls from Alaska. I always find it fascinating meeting someone from Alaska because I feel like it’s the state I’m least likely to meet someone from.
The Perfect Backdrop
One of my favorite things about west side are the mountain ranges. The color of the mountains in the early morning or late afternoon sun are beautiful.
There is one spot off the side of the road driving back from Yokohama Beach where you can take a photo with the best backdrop ever. The green on the mountain matched with the crystal clear water became one of my favorite shots from the trip.
As usual, Hawaii never disappoints. If you love the adventures be sure to Subscribe!

I really want to visit HawaII. I’ve never been there and even my American husband never went there. It would be awesome for him to find a job there, as I’m sure it is quite a great place to live in!!

This beach is gorgeous! I love all of the photos. It’s always fun meeting other people, and it’s so true that it seems like it would be rare meeting someone from Alaska.

Really makes me want to go there. I love an empty beach that is also beautiful, and warm! I also love the photography. The one of you laying on the black rocks is art! 🙂 Mahalo

When we’ve been to Hawaii, it was very rainy, but still it’s a beautiful place with a rich history (that you do not learn much about on the islands itselves since the ethnicity is quite oppressed). Too bad that it’s really faaaar from Europe so that we probably won’t be back that soon.
